Before you go about recruitment-as-usual, break the cycle of monotony and join Casual Films at DisruptHR this September in New York.
The story of DisruptHR, which will be coming to New York City on September 13, is one of humble beginnings. It was a typical December day back in 2013, and a chilly air blanketed the Cincinnati brewery where the inaugural DisruptHR event was taking place. In attendance were some 200 HR professionals, CEOs, elected officials and entrepreneurs who had gathered to hear a series of 14 speakers speak for five minutes apiece on the hallowed DisruptHR stage. On all matters related to talent and its cultivation, these leaders shared their innovative and disruptive ideas with attendees. The event was a runaway success, and it was clear to the founding team that they were on to something.
The New York Chapter
Fast forward to January of 2015: our co-founder Barnaby Cook, having just moved to New York, was keen to set up a networking event for the HR community there. Casual was already well-established in the HR space in London, where we were busy making films to help organizations attract, recruit and retain the best talent. Stateside, however, our realm of influence was much more, well — aspirational, if you will.
So, Barnaby attended a whole raft of networking events, conferences and mixers before he decided that the space needed shaking up. That’s when he discovered DisruptHR. He became the inaugural organizer of the New York chapter, and is looking forward to another sold out event this September. Over the years, as the New York chapter has grown, so has DisruptHR as a whole, which now takes place in 70+ cities globally with new organizers and members joining every day.
A Special Offer from Casual
Casual Films became involved early on in DisruptHR’s New York chapter as a way to give something back to the HR community while also raising our profile in the US. A large proportion of our work is with HR departments and teams, having created videos to help companies like Marriott International, PwC, Google and Facebook communicate with candidates, employees and clients.
Our films and animations have been used for recruitment, onboarding, learning, development, and to tell the employment brand stories of these organizations. At the risk of tooting our own horn, we’ve helped to lead HR departments out of the doldrums and into the 21st century, a core tenant of the DisruptHR mentality.
Our team of 18 in New York consists of filmmakers, producers, editors, animators and creatives who have a wealth of experience in the HR filmmaking world — and we’d love to have a chat about how we can help you. That’s why we’re offering attendees of DisruptHR NYC a 60-minute session with our team. We’ll discuss the current state of your HR and recruitment communications, and follow up with a free proposal deck with a list of personalized tips, tricks and recommendations. Interested parties can email Barnaby (firstname.lastname@example.org) to register for a time slot.
It’s time for business unusual. Register today for DisruptHR’s New York event on September 13, and get ready to shake up your approach to HR. The payoff will be anything but ordinary.
