Policy
Supplier Code of Conduct
Operating with integrity across all of our relationships — and expecting the same of our suppliers.
1. Introduction
Operating with integrity governs our approach and our aspiration to be recognised as a responsible organisation in all our relationships. We expect our suppliers to share our commitments, and to require the guidelines below of their own supply chain, including sub-contractors. By working collaboratively we believe we can jointly have a positive impact on society.
2. Laws and regulations
Suppliers will comply with all applicable local and national laws, rules, regulations and requirements in the provision of products and services to Casual Films, and will maintain and enforce these standards within their own supply chain.
3. Underage labour
Suppliers shall ensure no underage labour is used in the production or distribution of goods and services. A child is any person under the minimum employment age under the laws of the country of sourcing, or — in the absence of law — under the minimum age for completed mandatory education.
4. Forced labour
Suppliers will not use or tolerate any form of slavery, servitude, indentured, bonded, involuntary prison, military or compulsory labour, or human trafficking. All work must be voluntary and without threat of penalty. No government-issued identification, passports or work permits will be retained as a condition of employment, and workers’ rights to leave after their shift or terminate employment on reasonable notice must be recognised.
5. Freedom of association
Suppliers shall respect workers’ rights to associate — or not — as permitted by applicable law and freedom-of-association and collective-bargaining principles, and shall not interfere or discriminate. Where these rights are restricted under national law, suppliers will facilitate alternative means of independent association and bargaining.
6. Discrimination
An inclusive, diverse work environment with equal opportunity is encouraged. Suppliers must not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, colour, disability, religion, political affiliation, union membership, national origin, marital or pregnancy status. Any form or threat of harassment — physical, mental, sexual or verbal — is prohibited.
7. Wages and benefits
Wages and benefits must meet legal minimums and industry standards without unauthorised deductions.
8. Working hours
Working hours must comply with national laws and standards; workers should not be expected to work in excess of legal limits unless a valid opt-out has been chosen with supporting written evidence.
9. Healthy and safe working conditions
Suppliers must provide safe, clean conditions at work sites and residential facilities, with clear procedures for occupational health, safety and wellbeing, and must comply with the Casual Films Health and Safety policy.
10. Environment
Suppliers must have clear procedures to understand, measure and manage the direct and indirect environmental impacts of the goods and services provided, and comply with the Casual Films Environmental policy.
11. Business integrity
Suppliers shall not engage in any form of bribery or corruption, or contravene the Casual Films Anti-Bribery and Corruption policy.
12. Discipline and grievances
Suppliers must provide a transparent grievance mechanism allowing workers to raise concerns anonymously, with clear assessment and feedback. Disciplinary procedures must be documented, communicated and accessible, with records kept and the right to representation at meetings that may lead to significant penalties or dismissal.
13. Compliance with the code
Suppliers must demonstrate compliance with this Code, including documented evidence and the right of Casual Films (or a designated firm) to conduct audits — facility inspections, review of records and business practices, and employee interviews.
