Video production in Amsterdam, planned around your audience
Most of our Dutch shoots are in Amsterdam. We have also filmed at FrieslandCampina’s head office in Amersfoort, and in Alphen.
Every project starts with the job the film has to do and the people who will watch it. Storypulse™, our audience-led method, maps your channels, rivals and audience, and reads the films you already have against what works.
For Neighborhood Feminists, a nonprofit in Amsterdam, our Amsterdam team made one film and two further edits for more targeted use.

Do you work with large organisations in the Netherlands?
Yes. Clients of our Amsterdam team include SBM Offshore, FrieslandCampina and Prosus. All three have reviewed us on Clutch, from Amsterdam and Haarlem.
Our Amsterdam team’s work for ENGIE won Silver at the Lens Awards for Corporate Video. The category was Best Use of Video from the Energy & Utilities Sector. Our work for FrieslandCampina won Bronze there, for Best Use of Video from the Food & Beverage Sector.
Can you film in several countries at once?
Yes. For FrieslandCampina, we made four 90-second films, including three ambassador stories shot in the Netherlands, Nigeria and Malaysia.
Its Global Employer Branding Manager told Clutch: “Since we shot in three different countries, it was challenging at times. However, we still managed to do three films in approximately six weeks.” The review also says “they were able to work with local crews and shoot high-quality footage during the COVID-19 pandemic”.
For Prudential, we shot 13 films in 13 countries in six weeks, to one narrative and one standard.
Do you make employer brand films?
Yes. Prosus hired us to make its employer brand manifesto film, and our Amsterdam team made it. We provided the creative direction and script, filmed with Prosus employees, and recorded the voice-over and edited the film.
Its Head of Employer Brand wrote on Clutch: “People could truly see our culture come to life; they finally understood what we meant by it.”
Recruitment films are a speciality too. We have won Work of the Year at the Recruitment Advertising & Design Awards twice, and Best Video four times.
Show the culture people will find when they join. Employees now rate their employers in public, so the film and the job have to match.
“We had our film approved and launched internally and externally.”
Tatjana Obenaus, Head of Employer Brand, Prosus, Amsterdam, on Clutch, February 2026
Can you make our internal communications films?
Yes. Our Amsterdam team made SBM Offshore’s Life Day films for 2024 and 2025.
SBM Offshore’s May 2024 review on Clutch describes two films we scoped, scripted, filmed and edited. One launched its annual HSSE day for employees; the other was a LinkedIn film for its CEO.
The review gives the measurable outcomes as employee engagement with the launch film and survey measurements after the event.
“They were highly professional, well-prepared, and thorough.”
Catriona Tyler, Group Internal Communications Manager, SBM Offshore, Amsterdam, on Clutch, May 2024
Can you make versions in more than one language?
Yes. We have made films in Dutch, and deliver subtitled versions for the languages your teams speak. Neighborhood Feminists’ brand film is in Dutch, and we made Chinese and Portuguese subtitled versions of SBM Offshore’s 2024 Life Day film.
One shoot can also give you more versions for more platforms. For the Union for International Cancer Control, our Amsterdam team made a short World Cancer Day film for social media, for different regions and platforms.
Our case study for the campaign lists 886,578 total views across platforms and an average percentage viewed of 70.2%.
“Positive reaction from global members/audience and a feeling that it fit many contexts and cultures.”
Campaign specialist, Union for International Cancer Control, Switzerland, on Clutch, November 2024
How do you handle approvals between local teams and head office?
You approve a written treatment before anything is filmed: the idea, the story, the look and feel, and the reason behind each choice. Nothing goes into production until you’re happy.
Your Executive Producer keeps every stage coordinated on Smart Casual, our production system. Our teams in eight cities work 24 hours across time zones on fast-turnaround projects.
“Their level of project management was meticulous, one of the best we’ve ever experienced”
Tammy Sheldon, Co-Founder & Chair, Neighborhood Feminists, Amsterdam, on Clutch, March 2025
“Then, Casual Films followed up on the deadlines and sent over the first footage so we could review it and provide feedback.”
Rutger Groenewegen, Global Employer Branding Manager, FrieslandCampina, Haarlem, on Clutch, February 2022
“Creating content based on consensus will lead to work that is too ‘vanilla’ to really hit any specific audience. Focus groups lead to consensus, and consensus translates to no one getting what they wanted.”
Nick Francis, The New Fire (2019)
““Would recommend Casual Amsterdam without reservation to any firm or individual seeking video production.””
Tammy Sheldon, Co-Founder & Chair, Neighborhood Feminists, Amsterdam, on Clutch, March 2025
Questions about working with us in Amsterdam.
Most live-action films we make sell for €22,000 to €67,000, and most animated films for €8,000 to €24,000. We scope each film against the value of the action it has to drive.
Yes. Executive Producer Tarryn Paul leads our Amsterdam team, with Senior Producer Bronwyn Nathan. You can meet the team at Herengracht 500, and for studio shoots we hire a studio in Amsterdam to suit the film.
Yes, anywhere. In the Netherlands we have filmed in Amersfoort and Alphen as well as Amsterdam. We have teams in eight cities: London, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, Barcelona and Amsterdam.
Trusted local crews join when the shoot is somewhere else. If you can’t attend, you can watch over an HD remote dial-in.
Yes. Every professional shoot in Amsterdam must be reported to the city in advance, and some need its permission, such as blocking a road. Putting kit on the street needs a permit.
Amsterdam sits inside Schiphol’s controlled airspace, so drone shots need a licensed operator and air traffic control approval, requested at least two days ahead. We plan both into the schedule.
Most projects take about two months. We can go faster when you need us to, and faster still with a brand we already know.
With teams in eight cities, work can move round the world while you sleep. What slows a film down most is sign-off across a large group of stakeholders. FrieslandCampina’s manager told Clutch “we still managed to do three films in approximately six weeks”.
Two as standard. In practice we keep going until the film does what the brief asked, within reason.
We agree the measure up front, then track what each film does against it, and can run immersion testing to show how it lands. If it isn’t doing its job, we keep working until it does. That’s the Casual Guarantee.
Yes. Agree a yearly budget and draw it down film by film as the year unfolds. Unused budget carries over for three months.
