World Cancer Day campaign films for UICC
The brief
World Cancer Day is led by UICC. Its theme, United by Unique, puts people at the centre of cancer care.
We pitched a film inspired by Life in a Day: one day in the lives of people affected by cancer around the world. There wasn't time to gather the footage for 2025, so we made a different film that year. For 2026, UICC asked for the idea back.
What we made
We asked contributors around the world to film one day of their lives, from dawn to dusk. They included people living with cancer, carers, advocates, family members and health professionals. We wrote a simple filming guide so anyone could take part.
Our producer briefed contributors and went through all the footage. Our editor shaped it into a campaign film of under three minutes. It moves through grief and pain to healing, resilience and love.
The campaign was made for social first. We also made shorter films that tell individual stories.
What happened
UICC launched the film in November 2025. It is public on the World Cancer Day YouTube channel.
It won Silver in Online & Social Media: Non-profit & Fundraising at the 2026 US International Awards.
