I joined CF NY in April 2016. I come from a background of commercials, feature films, TV pilots, documentaries, and, of course, corporate comms. My work has been recognized with several industry awards, including an Emmy (it's still fun to say that).
As an EP in the New York office, I lead a small tight-knit team of producers, a filmmaker, editors, motion graphics, and creative. Our approach is collaborative, not just between us, but with our clients as well.
I think one of the big differences between Casual and other production companies is that we approach our work very proactively, with the mindset of a collaborator and problem solver. Our team's superpower is the ability to adapt to each project as needed: we can blend in and be a seamless part of your team, or we can stand out as a trusted advisor and lead a large and complex project. We move quickly and deliberately and we make sure the process feels inclusive, transparent, and fun - because let's be honest, we are super lucky to do what we do and it should be an enjoyable experience for everyone.
During my time here at Casual, I've had many memorable projects. Some because they were difficult to execute and allowed me and the team to stretch and grow in our skills. Other because of the subject matter. It's amazing what I've learned over the years on set: from microsatellites democratizing access to space to what it takes to make the perfect popsicle, and everything in between. But my favorite type of project is where I can profile extraordinary normal everyday people: from a single mom becoming a homeowner, to cancer survivors. Telling those stories is my absolute favorite thing to do.
