Casual Films is a film and animation production group based in London, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Our staff tell us they enjoy working at Casual because of the ownership they have over their projects, the flexible working and their fast career progression. We have an in-house team of 41 people and have strong social and friendly culture with a great work life balance.

As a Creative at Casual Films, you will be responsible for generating ideas, writing copy, laying up treatments, pitching proposals and developing videos that intelligently answer our client briefs. The best films start with the best ideas and the resulting work will be exceptional because of your input.
You must be able to take messaging from Fortune 500 companies, and reimagine it as creative, effective and engaging video content. And, your ideas must correlate to the budget.
Based in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, you will be joining our New York office alongside a team of producers, editors, filmmakers and one other creative.
Maybe you’re looking for a change from ad agency life, or believe video is the way forward. Maybe you want to join a team where no day is the same and you can see a project through from start to finish. We’re looking for someone who can leverage all the skills below to develop creative our clients will love.
Copywriting - You must have experience of writing scripts, concepting new ideas -big and small - and be able to communicate those ideas succinctly and effectively in creative proposals.
Visual thinking – While design experience isn’t a must, you’ll be a visual thinker, know what looks good, and be able to create mood boards which bring your ideas to life.
Strong communicator – You will be responsible for pitching your ideas to clients and attending meetings with producers. You’ll also be a good listener and be able to action client feedback, take new briefs and collaborate with other team members.
Industry awareness – It’s crucial you’re aware of how the industry is evolving. You’ll be interested in making internal, B2B and consumer-facing films and be inspired by the communications of the moment.
Strategic thinker – You’ll be able to see further than just one film. You will have an understanding of how campaigns work and have ideas about how we can maximize value for our clients.
